6 Ways To Start Selling E-books

Your infopreneuring efforts begin often by writing and then selling e-books. Most writers are comfortable creating e-books, but when it comes to selling them, they get nervous and unsure.

Here are 6 ways you can start selling e-books. Most of them are free and easy to follow. Some will require expertise or a modest investment. In any case, the benefits and profit from selling e-books make it worthwhile to try them all.

Selling e-Books On Your Blog

Writing comes natural to ebook authors. Blogging is an easy way to turn your writing skills into a traffic magnet, attracting prospects to your website where they can get your ebook.

Blogger.com offers a simple blogging system that is easy to learn and effective at pulling readers to your blog. Write about topics related to your ebook, include a ’soft sell’ pitch for your ebook, and then provide a link selling e-books on your blog.

Selling e-Books To Your List

If you already have a mailing list of subscribers, previous buyers or prospects, you can start selling e-books to your list. Just a simple email or letter mailed to them can result in a fair number of them buying your e-books.

Start building your list today. When you write articles, invite readers to join your list. When you create special reports, ask for contact details before handing over the report. Offer to mail out a sample chapter of your ebook to anyone who gives you their mailing address.

Selling e-Books Through Joint Ventures

Even if you’re starting out with no list, no contacts and no marketing budget, you can leverage your relationship with other ‘players’ in your niche by selling e-books to their contacts.

Approach the top names in your niche. Offer to help them out. Write an article for their website. Create a report they can give away. Proof read their writing. Do anything else that builds rapport. Then ask if they will help in selling e-books to their list, even share in the profits.

Selling e-Books Via Classified Ads

Not easy to do, but could work in some markets. A lot depends on the content of your ebook, the nature of your audience and the power of your ad copy.

Place your classified ad on websites, in newsletters, ezines, even print them in your local newspaper or run cable TV and radio ads. Well targeted audiences will buy in large numbers through such exposure.

Selling e-Books On Forums

Online communities are good places for advertising and selling e-books - though you’ll have to be smart about doing it. You can’t walk into a discussion group and blatantly pitch your ebook.

Instead, participate meaningfully in discussions. Share your expertise and insight into topics being debated. Casually, even ‘accidentally’, slip in a mention of the ebook you’ve just written on the topic. Then, offer a way for readers to buy it if they like - most often by including a link to your sales website in your signature link.

Selling e-Books By Direct Mail

Expensive, if you don’t know what you’re doing - but potentially very profitable if you do. The advantage is you can target your audience by interest, and avoid the clutter of web-based or email advertising. The drawback is the cost of printing and mailing out advertising copy, and the expertise needed to convert a meaningful number into buyers.

Many people dread the holiday gift giving season, because it means they have to go out and try to find the perfect gifts for their friends.

A great gift for someone who has been gambling for as little as 1 year or for as long as 20 years is the gift of knowledge.

There are many different sources of information on how to improve your gambling skills for ay game played in a casino.

Books
There are more books written on the subject of which ever casino game you are interested in then a person can read in a lifetime. The books vary in techniques and skill levels from the very beginner to the advanced expert.

Software
Most of the tutorial software on the market today not only educates you on how to play the game, but it is designed to make the experience more fun at the same time so you will pay more attention and therefore learn better. Software is available for games such as Blackjack, Video Poker, Texas Holdem, Let it Ride Poker, and many other popular casino games.

Videos
If the person you are getting the gift for is not interested in reading about gambling, or is not computer savvy, them maybe an educational DVD on how to play their favorite casino game would be the ideal gift this year. The DVD?s show them the mechanics of the game and show them how to develop some basic strategies as well. Besides educational DVD?s there are also dozens of movies based on casinos or gambling. These movies range from comedies to drama and can be good for hours of entertainment.

Gambling trips
It may be a little on the pricey side, but a few days away from work on a casino boat or maybe a suite in one of Americas fine casinos and hotels may just be what that person needs o unwind and recharge their mental batteries.

Casino dealer lessons
Depending on how much the gambler in your life really likes the casino life maybe they would love the chance to make a living working as a dealer in a casino. All across the country are schools qualified to teach you how to deal for whatever game you choose, and earn a living at it.

If the gift is for a poker player then a seat at one of the big poker tournament qualifiers is a once in a lifetime experience that any experienced poker player would die for, even if they do not win it will be something they will be guaranteed to remember for the rest of their lives and they will have you to thank for it.

But if you have the money and if they have the room for it, what casino regular would not love their own mini casino right in their own home, complete with a Blackjack table, Roulette wheel Craps table, Poker table and a slot machine. This would be the ideal place for them to sit watch the big game on a Sunday then maybe play a few hands of blackjack or poker before calling it a night.

Advantages Of Information Product Resale Rights

Posted on April 21, 2008

If you want to market your own information products but don’t like to write, or simply don’t have the time then you will want to consider buying reseller rights to existing information products on the internet.

Generally speaking, when you buy an information product with reseller rights you get the file and sometimes the sales page. It may also include a reseller’s license that spells out what you can and can’t do. For example, the license may state that you can sell the product, but no give it away.

So what are the advantages of buying resale rights to an information product? Here are the main advantages of resale rights:

1) Saves you time. One big advantage of resale rights products is that you don’t have to write one word - the information product is already created. This can save you weeks or months that it would otherwise take to write your own ebook for example.

That means you can focus most of your time on marketing and selling your new product (instead of creating it). If you want to be up and running quickly with a new information product, reseller rights can be an ideal answer.

2) Ready made website with professional sales copy. Ideally you want to get resale rights to an information product that has a ready made website, with proven sales copy that converts visitors into buyers. This saves you time and increases your chances of successfully selling the information product.

3) Saves you money. If you buy resale rights to an information product that already has a product image (i.e., ebook cover), website and sales letter, you save money. Why? Because you don’t have to hire a website designer or ecover designer if that was included.

And let’s not forget the money you save in terms of the time (what is your time worth?) and research costs involved in creating your own information product.

4) You keep all of the profits from each sale. Since you own the resale rights to the information product you keep all of the profits from each sale. Keep in mind you will need way to process payments from your customers. On that note, one option you will want to consider is using a third-party payment processor such as PayPal or Clickbank.

There are a number of other advantages to purchasing reseller rights but the above are the ones I consider most important. So if you haven’t given much thought to resale rights in the past, now is the time to explore that option further.

Affiliate Ebooks - Beware Of Hype

Posted on April 17, 2008
Filed Under Internet Business, Ebooks | Leave a Comment

This is not my first article about affiliate marketing hype and you can be cheated by so called gurus. Again this time, I am not saying all ebook authors are scammers.

The truth is they are almost all saying the same, they even promote each others ebooks at the same time.

Their new release is supposed to be better than the previous. Some authors, serial writers, are selling the same infos on different websites. They just change the title and the words, but the content is the same.

How can you spot hype ? Is the offer too good to be true ? Study the salesletter and see if there is something you already read somewhere else. Look for reviews. Go to Google and search for ‘xyz review’, ‘xyz scam’, etc. Then visit forums and ask people to share their experience.

You will always get better point of views from users, because they are buyers. If they don’t like what they purchase, they will tell you. Some people will just say “nothing new”, some will even tell you what are the techniques insidde the ebook. Not in details, but you will get the idea.

Forums allow you to get multiple answers and you will quickly know the truth. Again, use google and search for ‘affiliate forum’, ‘clickbank forum’, ‘webmaster forum’.

I hate overhyped pitch page and products and now I only promote one ebook on my website and it’s not a ClickBank product. It’s cheaper and far better than any best sellers I can see in ClickBank.

No hype, no B.S. ebook, video tutorials, website templates, softwares and a great email support. The author is ready to help you personally. Don’t hesitate to give it a try, there is a moneyback guarantee, so you have nothing to lose.

I need to say that when you find a technique that work, stick to it, but develop and replicate it. Don’t think someone invented something new. They are just using the same methods differently, they know some tools and software that automate some tasks, and also have people working for them. Even the salesletters on their websites can be written by someone else.

I hope you got some useful informations there. I will write other articles and help people like me to make money online with real and proven methods.

Audiobooks Are A Thing Of The Past!

Posted on April 12, 2008
Filed Under Internet Business, Ebooks | Leave a Comment

In fact, audiobooks have been available for decades. Becoming more popular in the 60’s as books on tape, and more recently as books on CD. Audiobooks can be played on any desktop or laptop device.

With popularity of portable music players such as the iPod and MP3 Player, audio books are more accessible to people for portable listening.

Audiobooks are economical, often less expensive than a hard cover book. Studies show that listening to a recording can enrich your knowledge just as if you were reading a book.

Educational audiobooks have the same content as written books. This helps the person to learn words they may not learn correctly if they were to just read the book. Audiobooks are available in abridged and unabridged versions. Unabridged audio books are word for word readings of a book, while abridged audio books have text edited out by the abridger.

Getting a book published in audio is just as difficult, if not more difficult, as getting a book published in print. Most new popular titles put out by the major publishers are available in audiobook format simultaneously with publication of the hardcover edition. As the audiobook industry gains popularity, the availability of titles will increase.

You may like to listen to fiction and nonfiction best sellers, how-to books, biographies, children books and so on… while doing boring or repetitive tasks. Listening to motivational audiobooks while exercising has become very popular. Some of the most popular are books narrated by the authors themselves such as The South Beach Diet narrated by Dr Agaston.
Publishers hold the copyright to the content of each audiobook and audiobooks may not be reproduced (just like printed books) as it is considered copyright infringement.

Audiobooks enable busy individuals to multi-task and still enjoy some of their favorite literary works. Audiobooks are not intended to replace its paperback and hard book counterparts, but it is definitely a good solution for the times when you simply can’t afford to take time off to finish reading a book.

So while audiobooks may be from the past, they are certainly the new wave of the future!

Affiliate Marketing E-book Reviews: Super Affiliate Handbook And Niche Marketing On Crack

Posted on April 8, 2008
Filed Under Internet Business, Ebooks | Leave a Comment

Super Affiliate Handbook and Niche Marketing on Crack stand out from the rest of the books available on the subject of affiliate marketing and promotion.

Here are a few reasons why:

1. Both e-books are comprehensive. Some books talk about Adwords or Search Engine Optimization or finding the right product. Each of these books leads you through everything you need to do in the process. Super Affiliate handbook is considerably longer and therefore has much more of the little details you might want. However, Niche Marketing on Crack has a lot of information in its pages that can be used as a no nonsense guide to get started right away.

2. Each author, Rosalind Gardner and Andrew Hansen, guide you step by step. They assume that you have never done this before. They therefore take you through each and every step to guarantee success by letting your learn from their mistakes and successes.

3. Neither the Niche Marketing on Crack nor the Super Affiliate Handbook promise to ?get you rich quick.? Instead each reveals a system by which the author has made money and feels that (with a certain about of effort on your part)?you can achieve success just like theirs. It is not an overnight promise?but could produce income for years to come.

4. Both products are high quality. There are a lot of scams on the internet. There are a lot of e-books that are not worth a penny, but these authors spent a great deal of time and effort to teach us how to achieve what they did. They a both a good read and have high quality information to pass along to you.

Which one would I choose? I would actually choose both books. Niche Marketing on Crack is a short and sweet and you can get started the same day. Super Affiliate Handbook has much more information and is a good resource to avoid pitfalls you may encounter along the way. I enjoyed Andrew Hansen?s no nonsense approach, but I thought you could avoid some issues by at least reading Super Affiliate Marketing?s web hosting information before you take that initial step.

Either e-book is worth the investment if you want some solid advice on affiliate marketing. If you apply either of their techniques, most people double their investment in less than a week! However, if you combine both of their ideas, you may find a winning combination of your own.

6 Easy Ways To Sell More Ebooks

Posted on April 8, 2008
Filed Under Internet Business, Ebooks | Leave a Comment

Writing an ebook is hard work for many infopreneurs. They stick it out because of the pay-off… selling many copies and earning rich rewards. One way to sell more ebooks is to find more customers.

It is possible, but hard work - and often expensive.

The smarter and easier way to sell more ebooks is to sell more of them to each customer! Sound strange? You’ll understand better after reading this article. I’ll show you 6 ways to leverage the networks and resources of others to leapfrog to ebook best seller status.

Sell More Ebooks by Bundling

It matters little to you whether you sell your ebooks as a standalone copy to one customer, or as part of a bundle or package of other ebooks, software, audio and other material - to a group of people.

By bundling together your ebook with other relevant and related infoproducts, you add perceived value to the bundle and can easily generate more sales. If you don’t have any such products or services, contact others who do and joint venture with them. They may even give you access to their list of prospects and customers, helping you sell more ebooks.

Sell More Ebooks by Licencing

Another twist on the bundling concept is allowing others to licence your ebook and sell it to their network. If there is a leading authority in your niche, and that person decides to licence your ebook to sell it to a larger audience, you benefit from the greater reach which exceeds what you can do on your own.

Sell More Ebooks by Affiliates

Another powerful way to leverage your connections is to recruit an army of affiliates to help sell your ebooks. The incentive your affiliates get is to share in the profits generated. You benefit from getting to sell more ebooks without spending any time, effort or money.

Sell More Ebooks by Offline

Too many infopreneurs assume ebooks can be sold only online. Not true. You can sell more ebooks by going off the Web. You can sell it on CD, or even collect orders and have the delivery done through your website.

Placing a flyer or coupon for your hair styling ebook at the hairdresser’s, or for a report about muscle building at the neighborhood gym would grab the attention of prospects very likely to order a copy.

Sell More Ebooks by Partnering With Charities

Non-profit organizations constantly try to raise funds. You can help their effort and sell more ebooks in the process.

Let’s say your ebook is about dog training. You could team up with a non-profit that helps find stray dogs a shelter. Contact them and offer the use of your ebook as a fundraiser. If your ebook sells regularly for $19.95, the charity could sell it as a special for $14.95 to their donors - and keep $10, sharing only $4.95 with you.

It’s a twist on the licencing model, and with the correctly targeted charity, it could help sell more ebooks easily.

Sell More Ebooks through Trade Associations

If your ebook is of value to a group - attorneys, exporters, small business owners, pilots, or restaurant owners - you would do well to approach trade associations that cater to them.

By a simple mention or review in their newsletter or magazine, you could sell hundreds of copies of your ebook within a few days!

Did this short article give you some exciting ideas to sell more ebooks? Now go ahead and take action. Go sell more ebooks today.

How To Sell E-books Using Paypal

Posted on April 6, 2008
Filed Under Internet Business, Ebooks | Leave a Comment

We’ve probably all seen web sites featuring paid content requiring the use of a credit card. Generally such a web site provides a brief paragraph or two advertising their product, perhaps displaying a table of contents and finally a form making the information available for download.

The true advantage of any digital product, such as an online e-book, is the instant gratification factor. Customers don’t want to wait for product delivery. Instant payment notification or IPN (a paypal term) makes it possible to safely and securely deliver an e-book immediately after purchase.

If you are an author of such an e-book, you might be interested in providing this service on your website. While it may seem complex or perhaps something only larger companies can do, any small business or freelance writer can easily make their e-book available as a download for their website visitors.

The nice thing about using a well known company such as paypal is the trust factor. Your visitors are far more inclined to trust paypal than they might another unfamiliar payment processor.

Paypal is known for its high standards in the area of security, using them as a sort of “trust broker” allows you to capitalize on their reputation.

The first step is determining whether or not you will be doing this yourself or using one of the many commission based online services.

Commission based resellers offer some advantages, most notable is slightly less complexity. You simply create an account with them and upload your files, they take on the role of another broker. The main selling point of such a broker is “ease of use”.

Another, less expensive approach is to do this yourself. This is not very difficult, anyone, even smaller home based businesses and freelance writers can easily do this using inexpensive off the shelf paypal software. Should you find yourself in over your head, you can always hire an expert to perform the software installation.

There are two advantages of installing your own system.

The obvious advantage is that you won’t have to pay a commission to another 3rd party, the transaction is strictly between yourself, paypal and your visitor.

Another, less obvious yet crucial advantage is that you will have complete control over the design and layout of your ad copy.

The importance of maintaining this control cannot be over-stated. No one buys anything without first being told about the product. You simply must provide some advertising copy describing your e-book or it will not sell. Keeping the paypal download software on your own website enables you to have complete control over the process.

When you decide to do this, you will need to find some paypal software for your website. This generally takes the form of a CGI or PHP script, the one I use is called PayVeX (an open source package). If you are already familiar with mysql database settings, you’re well ahead of the game. If not, you should ask your hosting provider about them.

When locating paypal software, it is essential that the package ship complete with source code in an unencrypted form.

While you might not be interested in the technical details of software design, you may some day find yourself in a position where the paypal script will need to be modified. It is impossible to hire someone to do this if the software doesn’t include full, unencrypted source code. It is therefore essential that you have access to it, even if you never intend to make modifications yourself.

After you have selected the software, you might decide to install it yourself or hire an expert to do it. If you should decide to install it yourself, you would follow any included instructions (generally running some type of setup procedure). You may be surprised at how easy this is to do.

Should you decide to hire an expert, you will need to give them your hosting provider login credentials. It is important to change your password before asking them to login.

Changing your hosting password before and after hiring the services of an expert is important, not only will you be preventing that person from logging in again, you will also be protecting yourself in the event your credentials were compromised during the password exchange. (ideally, you would use something like PGP to exchange this information)

Installing and operating a paid download tool on your own is easy, best of all, you are completely free to tweak or adjust your website to enhance its selling impact.

7 Ways To Outsell Other Ebook Resellers On Ebay

Copyright 2006 Philip Ritchie

How would you like to have your car payment or mortgage paid for? Or perhaps you would like to quit your job and work part time from the comfort of your home?

Whatever your dreams are, selling ebooks and software with resell or master resell rights can help make them a reality! But what if you are not a savvy internet marketer? Well, eBay is an easy and great place to start.

It is also a great source of supplemental income even for seasoned resell rights marketers.

But, with increased competition on eBay among ebook resellers, an effective strategy is a must have to continue to grow your ebook business effectively. Don?t ever let the seemingly low prices and the thought of resell rights saturation discourage you from reaping large financial rewards. I have been selling ebooks and software on eBay for 3 years now and have developed and refined 7 tried and true tactics that will allow you to resale ebooks for up to 10 times the price of your competition.

The secret is in the listing title! Below are 7 ways to maximize your traffic, conversion and profit using smart listing strategies.

1. Keyword Rich Listing Title

This tip is not unknown but is still rarely used. Most people who sell ebooks with resell rights simply list their item on eBay using the ?actual name? of the product for the listing title.

For example, ?James Jackson’s Giveaway Gold? is listed by many sellers by it?s title. In reality this is an ebook on how to build your email list. If you were looking for a guide on how to build your mailing list would you type in ?James Jackson?s Giveaway Gold?? Not if you have never heard of such an ebook! It should be listed as ?Build Create Make Your Mailing Email List?. This would be a wise use of relevant keywords and phrases which will bring in the greatest amount of traffic to that listing. You can find these targeted keywords with a free keyword search tool.

2. Understand What You Are Selling

If you don?t know what you are selling how can you give it a proper listing title? Be sure to read the sales page that it comes with. Often times you can find useful keywords and phrases in the sales page that will help you list it correctly.

3. Check Out Your Competitor?s Listing Titles

Do this before you pick your listing title. As you start writing down possible keywords and phrases to use in your title, cross check them on eBay to see if any other of the same products pull up. Be sure to choose the keywords and phrases that give you the fewest competitors.

4. Use Misspellings To Your Advantage

People?s inability to spell means money for you. For example, a product that has to do with ?Google Adsense? can also be written as ?Google Ad Sense,? or even Goggle Adsense.?

5. Cross Positioning

A great example of this would be having an ebook on coin collecting but listing it as coin collecting with metal detector. There may be nothing in your ebook on metal detectors but no doubt anyone who pulls up metal detectors will see your ebook on coins and bingo, you just created a niche listing with no competitors.

6. Name Recognition Tie In

This is a great way to pull in brand name recognition traffic even though you aren?t selling the product with the name. An example of this would be if you were selling an ebook on how to create a pay per click search engine. You could list the title as something like ?Make A Pay Per Click Search Engine Like Google Adwords.?

Another benefit to using all 6 of these techniques is that often times the resellers won?t find you very easily. Resellers will be looking at other resellers and trying to copy their titles while undercutting their listing price. Because most of them are looking for the actual name of the product, you will be virtually invisible to them.

7. Put Your Ebook On CD

Now that you have positioned yourself on eBay away from the rest, burn your ebooks to CD. Why on a CD? You can increase the price as well as charge shipping and handling. You can easily charge $4.99 for shipping when in fact it costs less than half that to pay for the CD and shipping materials.

There you have it. Now you can be the ebook reseller you have always wanted to be and start pulling in easy cash, the smart way!
